The Ministry of Finance and Economic Management (MFEM), through its Major Projects and Procurement Support Division (MPPS), advises that preparations are continuing for MV Tuitui Moana to enter inter-island service.

The vessel is currently completing the necessary local clearances, inspections and operational checks required before services can commence. This process will provide the Government with important information on the vessel’s operational requirements, including crewing, maintenance, safety, scheduling and service delivery.

Further information on the vessel’s operating arrangements, booking process and initial shipping schedule will be released once these requirements have been completed and the necessary arrangements confirmed.

Following clearance from Ports Authority, MFEM is pleased to invite members of the public aboard MV Tuitui Moana for an Open Day at Avatiu Harbour, Rarotonga.

The Open Day will be held on:

Friday, 11 September 202610.00am to 3.00pm

The Open Day provides an opportunity for the community to tour the vessel, meet members of the team and view the onboard spaces and features that will support future passenger and cargo operations across the Cook Islands.

Everyone is welcome and no bookings are required. Visitors are asked to come to Avatiu Harbour during the Open Day and speak with a member of the MPPS team, who will allocate them to an available tour group.

Tours will be conducted in small groups and coordinated by the MPPS and Shipping teams to safely manage the number of people aboard the vessel.

For the safety of all visitors, flat and sensible shoes must be worn while abroad MV Tuitui Moana.

MFEM appreciates the strong public interest in the vessel and looks forward to welcoming the community aboard.

Further updates on MV Tuitui Moana and her entry into inter-island service will be shared through the official MFEM communication channels as arrangements are confirmed.
