Development Process
Our Workforce Plan forms part of MFEM’s Strategic Plan 2022-26 – Priority 4: Strengthening MFEM’s capacity and connectedness.
The purpose of our developing a plan was to ensure we have the right people with the right skills at the right place at the right time now and into the future. Anticipating the future business needs and establishing the most important skills our people need to build our workforce strategy and roadmap for our future.
Given that each of our Division’s operations is diverse, we started the development at a Division level to ensure that the Workforce Plan was fit for purpose.

All the Ministry's Divisions were tasked with assessing their current status concerning the worker, the work and the workplace and forecasting what "a great place to work" looks like. The output is Workforce Plans for each Division, which contains the actions identified and those that will evolve required to get us all to the desired future state.
As part of their individual and team development, our people leaders and emerging leaders led the development of their Division Workforce Plans. They were asked to take a collaborative approach by engaging directly with all divisional staff so they could be involved in creating an environment that is empowering and exciting to them.
Divisional Workforce Plan presentations were made to the Financial Secretary and Directors on 23 June 2023. The presentations addressed the following questions:
-
What is your current state?
-
What does “a great place to work" look like for your Division, and
-
How is your Division going to get there?
Our Future State
