Young People of the Cook Islands

ANALYSIS OF THE 2011 POPULATION AND HOUSING CENSUS

FEBRUARY 2015

This youth monograph provides in-depth analysis of the characteristics of young people in the Cook Islands, as captured through the 2011 Population and Housing Census. It examines the situation of the young people compared to the total population, in particular, their transition to independence, education, health and wellbeing, and work and employment. It is one in a series of census monographs on topics where statistics and information are in high demand, the others being on migration, gender population and labour force. This publication provides new information and analysis to complement these and the main report on the census published in December 2012.
