ADB - Administration Assistant

In Partnership with the Cook Islands we are focused on improving economic and social infrastructure and public sector service delivery for the benefit of all Cook Islanders.

We have been partnering with the Cook Islands for over 20 years and in 2012 opened an in-country office with an ADB Liaison Officer.  We are now recruiting to provide Administrative support to this role.

You will need to have:

•  the energy and skill to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines

•  excellent organisation and communication skills (oral and written) and preferably speak Cook Island Maori

•  the ability to work with senior officials across government, private and community organisations

•  Excellent computer skills and the ability to design processes for the efficient capture and storage of information

This role sits within the Ministry of Finance and Economic Management (MFEM) and for a career minded individual provides excellent opportunities for advancement in the future.

Payroll Officer

The Payroll Officer is a junior position to assist the Payroll Supervisor in managing and coordinating the payroll function for the whole of Government.

Personal Specification:

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work productively in a team environment
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience in Finance/ICT related field

Funds Manager

As Funds Manager, you will draw on your experience of best financial management practises and provide leadership and advice to other staff in Treasury to enable appropriate decision making on financial issues which impact on the governments operations.

The functions are of a wide range but will primarily concentrate but not limited to the following areas:

  • Funds/Debt Management
  • Management of Payments on Behalf of Crown and Revenue on Behalf of Crown
  • Numismatic Supervision
  • Ministry budget monitoring.

Personal Specification:

  • Conceptual and analytical ability.
  • Excellent skills in creating databases and conducting analysis;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Preferably a degree in accounting/finance/public administration or related fields but consideration will be given also to experienced candidates.
  • Three to five years of practical experience in funds management/financial analysis.
  • Team worker, prepared and able to pass on their knowledge and skills to others.
  • Ability to concentrate in numbers and verifications.

The position has been sized by the PSC at band ‘K’, between $35,367 and $47,850.
