National Budgets are produced on a yearly basis prepared by relavent government agencies in accordance with the MFEM Act, which requires fiscal responsibility to be maintained under section 23.

The Budget must be tabled in Parliament for debate no later than the 30th day of July of any financial year.

The Budget process is facilitated by the Budget & Planning Division of MFEM.

The initial budget document produced in the budget cycle is the Budget Policy Statement.

This document is intended to guide the appropriations for each crown agency to enable governments key priority areas to be met.
