National Budgets are produced on a yearly basis prepared by relavent government agencies in accordance with the MFEM Act, which requires fiscal responsibility to be maintained under section 23. The Budget must be tabled in Parliament for debate no later than the 30th day of July of any financial year.

Budget Policy Statement

The Budget Policy Statement sets out Governtments Medium Term Fiscal Policy and its intentions for the relevant fiscal year.

This then becomes the guiding document for the way in which Government intends to allocate its resources through the 2008-09 Budget Process.

This document also includes an update on the state of the economy and Government fiscal position.

 Budget Estimates - Part I
 

The Budget Estimates Part I: Appropriations & Commentary contains the actual Bill tabled in Parliament as per the MFEM Act.

This document presents how the Government has utilized its resources in the relevant fiscal year across government departments and projects in accordance with the MFEM Act.

This document also includes an update on the state of the economy and Government fiscal position.
